The Day My Biggest Fear Became a Reality

Have you ever wondered how you would act if your worst fear became your reality? Well today I found out exactly how I would act and let me tell you it wasn't pretty.

So here is what happened. I walk into school like it is any other day, sit down  and get my books out. Teacher begins to talk I get my planner out and begin to look through it... You know just wasting time while the teacher does his thing. He starts to go over the days notes so I open my trusty binder to get some paper and then it happened.... A giant COCKROACH crawls right across my page.... I close the binder throw it across the room and yell BIG BUG..... Yes friends that's right in the middle of class I threw my binder and screamed... My super unrational fear of  roaches kicked in and I lost ALL ability to think. Lets just say after I threw my folder craziness ensued. The bug crawled out from the folder and tried to make a run for it. Considering that the class of 40 consists of 39 girls and 1 guy the majority of the class was cowering in the back with me while one brave girl chased down the roach and killed it. Oh and did I mention that all the while my Professor is up front laughing? Yes, he was laughing to the point of tears at me!

Once all the bug was conquered and we all calmed down he says... You did quite a good impression of my wife there.... Don't you guys get used to the bugs... well I mean everyone besides YOU ( at this point he is looking right at me). Seriously the most embarrassing thing to happen to me in a LONG time... I spent the rest of the class with my legs criss-cross afraid to move for a fear the roach would come back from the dead for round two, all the while listening to Roach jokes every few minuets from the professor....

That my friends is real life...

Lessons Learned... Kinda

So I have been trying to learn all I can about this blogging world but everyday it seems like I find something else out. Who knew all this would be so complicated at first. I'm sure it will all make sense eventually but GOODNESS... So what is it I learned today you ask? How to reply to comments... I did not know that you could link your email address to your comments... So if anyone is offended that I haven't written them back... well that is why... Because I am a little bit ignorant... Anyone want to mentor me in Blogging 101? I sure do need some help!

Raising the Roof... for a Good Cause

For those of you who don't know I am finishing up my last year at the UCF, I am majoring in Event Management and Non Profit management. What this last year means is A LOT of projects. Not my favorite part of college but it is a necessary evil I have learned to deal with. This semester I am in what is called a seminar class... basically it is what they call a class that is one credit but TONS of work. One of the many tasks I will encounter is to put together a fundraiser for-INSERT GOOD CAUSE HERE. I, along with five other students, get to pick a cause, plan an event and execute it. I really do not want to do the same old thing I want something creative and worthwhile. Something that will look good on a resume and that will make a difference. Also know as.... I am feeling ambitious, but I need some help. I NEED inspiration. Does anyone have any ideas for a good fundraiser? It has to be something rather cheap there is really no budget for this at all... though I have been know to get quite a few sponsors when its for a good cause.

Back to School... and Work!

Well yesterday marked the first day of school for me. I can already tell this semester is going to be quite the hectic one with 6 classes. So far though all my professors seem great. My international events professor is from the UK so he has the best accent it makes the class so much more interesting....

Yesterday as I was getting ready for class I just began to think about everything that needs to be done and paid for... It has been about 2 and a half months since my Hubby had a job. This was fine when I was working a full 40 hours a week but with school I will only be getting a third of the hours, I had no idea how we were going to do it now. We have been praying hard... really hard for a solution and finally we got it. While I was in the shower one of the places Jon had interviewed with called to offer him the job!! It will have great pay and he worked for the company in Utah so he knows what he is doing.  They were excited to have him and have big plans for him. God is so good!

Now that he is working again I am trying to convince him that I NEED all of these things...
1. A new bag... Maybe one of these?

2.  An iPad... it would fit so nicely in my new bag... and I would even let him play with it!
I know... I am a really good wife
3.This watch... So I am on time for all my classes
4.Rain boots and a new umbrella... Because UCF Floods on a daily basis... I promise I wont throw it over the bridge like this silly girl did!
5. Desk/ Office make over

Maybe I will wait till he actually goes to his first day of work before showing him the list.

The End is in Near!!

Today I have this joyous urge to jump up and down and shout
" THE END IS NEAR!! THE END IS NEAR!!!"
I have just 2 more semesters of school! Next week I start my last fall semester of ALL TIME!! I can now say "next semester I graduate!"  This morning was spent plotting and planning the next year and it is done. After this semesters 6 classes all I will have left is a breezy 12 credit hours that's only 4 classes! I know I just used more exclamation points than any respectable person should  but they truly express my excitement, after so many delays it is so nice to see the end. I would not change my college days for anything major changes, cross country moves and that semester off to get married all worth it. I maybe behind where I should be but I have lived and learned WAY more than I would have if I stayed "on track". Who is to say what is on track anyways. Plus if I had already graduated what are the chances of Jon signing something like this>>>>

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness

But now I am class free and get off work at 3 every day and it is AMAZING! I can not believe that it is already July! Summer is almost over, I just do not even want think about what that means for my schedule in a few weeks. This summer has been a fabulous one thanks to a few good friends.
