One Year Down Eternity to Go

Anniversary Weekend!!!

This weekend was fantastic! The best in a long time. It was our one year anniversary and Hubby made it so perfect. I can't believe that it has already been a whole year. Here are some pictures form our weekend.

Friday my Aunt Faye came to visit and treated us to dinner at this amazing Italian place, Brono's. She was in town with a few of her friends to run the Wine and Dine half marathon at Epcot. They are seriously the amazing I want to be just like them when I "grow". They remembered it was our anniversary and caused a scene until they brought us this cake...

Saturday ate dinner with the family and saw the new James Bond movie... I recommend it. SO good!
Sunday was our actual anniversary and Jon surprised me with a trip to St Augustine. he is the best husband I could ask for. We just explored the city all day with no real plans.

Like I said best weekend in a long time.

Weekend Review: The Most Boring Weekend...

The weekend was seriously a bore... It was kind of nice though. My allergies have been acting up... WAY UP like cant sleep well, bloody noses, headaches and a million sneezes acting up. It's the worse cause I can not take most allergy medicines. ANYWAYS this post wont be full of complaints. I PROMISE you that's it. Friday I was spoiled. My visiting teachers came over and gave me lots of treats (my house was clean this time thank you!), then at work I was given even more treats.
And this is after Jon got into them if you notice half the cake is gone and
quite a few cookies and rolls are gone too.... ( I may have helped a bit)
We went to Applebee's for my favorite queso dip and it just so happens that my sister was working that night. Her and her Fiance both work there as servers and were on duty which explains why they were not answering our plees of friendship. When they got off we went to their house to watch a movie. Super fun but bad choice for my sneezing nose. They have 3 dogs who love attention and apparently I am quite allergic to them. One roll of toilet paper later the movie, 30 Minuets or Less was over and actually pretty good.
Saturday was spent lounging around. We have started watching DR. Who on Netflix and it pretty much consumes our free time now... For those of you who don't know what DR. Who is... Look it up British T.V. show and it is quite entertaining. We did decide to venture out into the real world and take advantage of the nice weather... AKA not 100 Degrees outside. We took Ruca to the Dog park finally and it was worth it... LOOK at this Sunset...

Sunday Was spent at church teaching my little ones, well little one. This week I only had one little nugget, and let me tell you it was NOT easy. This little man is ALL boy he loves to talk, hates to listen and can't sit still for the life of him. I use pictures a lot in my lessons and he kept saying "put that away, DON'T use those, I hate those" Seriously! So after going through everything I had we still had 45 minuets left... UHHHH So we went on a walk and I made a game up thinking that should take a big chunk of the time up... NOPE  When we got back there was still 30 minuets left. So I did what any good teacher does and I called for my Hubby. Jon is so adorable with little ones, especially crazy boys. That crazy little nugg just sat there staring at Jon until he finally walked over grabbed the chocolate I had been bribing  giving him and handed it to Jon. That was it, it was love.

I just have to share one quote from this silly little boys ramblings.... While talking about something COMPLETELY  unrelated he interrupts...

"When I grow up I'll be a HUMAN!" He was seriously so excited about this I just had to let him know that he is in fact a human right now, in which his reply was " Not a real Human. I'm just a small human But Ill be a BIG Human when I grow up"

So there you have it my oh so boring weekend that I some how managed to write a giant post about... Congrats if you made it through :)

We are Going to be Millionaires

Ok so maybe not millionaires but I think my hubby is going to make us rich. He is pretty amazing as you probably know if you have read any of my other posts. This weekend he pretty much surpassed all of his previous greatness with this amazing little creation.
Now you are probably looking at that thinking OH he must have bought her a present.... WRONG
My man can crochet. That is right my big manly hubster can crochet with the best of them. Look how sticking cute that head band is. I was feeling really sick this whole weekend and had TONS of homework so lets just say I was not in the best of moods on Sunday. I showed my amazing man a picture from this girlies etsy shop and without even asking he headed to the craft room. Two hours later this is what he came up with.

No tutorial, no instructions just his oh so handsome brain. Now here is where I need to make a necessary note that Jon WAS watching foot ball while doing this so it was by default manly...
Anyways though don't you think we should sell them? I Would buy it. And the great thing is...
He can make pretty much anything...
Big people Hats
Baby hats
Scarfs
headbands
purses
booties for the little nuggets
pretty much anything your heart desires

Weekend Review

Hey Everyone! I am linking up here. I didn't take to many pictures of my self... aka none... But I had a fabulous weekend. My cousins little boy turned one this week so we spent a lot of our time with him. He is seriously the cutest little thing. My Sister and her Fiance make amazing cakes and they made Little Kody's first cake. Isn't it the cutest thing?

Kody was not afraid to dig right in but right after was not very happy with the results...

So maybe I took one picture I had just come from work and school all day so I'm a little gross...
Don't judge me :)

Saturday we spent the day with some of our good friends from out of town. We had a BBQ and we were tasked with bringing the desert (my friends know that I a horrible cook so this is our permanent assignment around these parts). Jon wanted to do something different so we combined our baking powers and came up with this amazing cake...
Better Than Sex Cake

It is seriosuly so easy and incredibly delicious we found the recipe here... I don't know if it really was better than sex BUT it was pretty darn close....

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 box Devil’s Food Cake
  • 1 8-oz tub cool whip
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 bottle caramel ice cream topping
  • 1 package Heath bar pieces (found in the baking aisle by the chocolate chips)

    DIRECTIONS

    1. Cook Devil’s food cake in a 9 x 13 inch pan, according to package directions and let it cool.
    2. In a large bowl, combine caramel and sweetened condensed milk.
    3. Using the end of a wooden spoon, poke holes in the cake every couple of inches. Alternatively, you can use a fork to poke holes.
    4. Pour the caramel/sweetened condensed milk over the top of the cake so that it fills all of the holes.
    5. Spread Cool Whip over the top of the cake.
    6. Sprinkle Heath bar pieces on top.
    7. Enjoy! PS: Store leftovers in the refrigerator.

Friday night Jon was on call so we didn't do much just watched our new favorite show Breaking bad and had some much needed cuddle time.

Saturday was a busy but amazing day. We started the day off right with some time at the beach.
Then headed to the bank to the get out some cash....
I may have been a little excited to hold that much cash...

    Race Day!

Weekend Review! I'm linking up Here
I did it! I officially have run a 5k. It has been on my One Day list for years finally I did it! My family  has always been really big in to 5k walks we participate in the Kidney Foundation's 5k walk every year. But until yesterday my nerves prevented me from actually running a real 5k. Titusville put on the perfect event to get me out of my running shell... The Get Up and GO 5k/10k Run/Walk.... Seriously it was perfect, my family got to walk, I got to run and those more intense runners (me hopefully one day soon) got to run the 10k. It is held on the Max Brewer Bridge. Which basically is killer hard to run up and down two times. ( now I am using the word run loosely cause the second time going up it lets face it I WALKED ).
I didnt take this picture I got it from here but this is that bridge!

I ran with my great friend Becky and she is seriously amazing. She has two kids and totally kicked my butt. Now this isn't the best picture of us but at least we can prove we were there with numbers and everything.

I finished 7th in my age group with 35 minutes and 10 seconds. I'm not sure how I feel about my time but I'm going with not to bad for no training... I pretty much haven't run more than a mile in a months... and it was on a giant slope. Ok enough with the excuses. All it made me want to do is go faster next time. I already found the next race I want to do its in October. I will beat my time!
It was really great to spend so time with my family. My mom is amazing and so supportive she even paid for me to do the race since we have been super tight with money lately. My cousin walked the whole way with his little man strapped to his chest. It was pretty much the cutest thing
It was little mans second 5k walk strapped to his  Daddy's chest. Hes a warrior baby!
After the race we MAY have stopped by McDonalds... We earned it right?

    Weekend Review

So this weekend was not too exciting sadly. We were all set to head to Miami to visit tone of my favorite families in the world but plans fell through so we settled for a weekend of relaxing in town. Friday night we ventured down by the bridge (the place to be in this little town) and tried our luck at fishing. Lets just say we were not so lucky. I spent the night playing with Ruca and trying to take a good picture with my Hubby.

Obviously I couldn't get a good picture with either of them...
Jon would not make a normal face and Ruca would not look at the camera....
Its like she is a dog or something always getting distracted....

We caught, by we I mean Jon, about six of these little guys...

I think they were as big as the shirmp we were fishing with.

Saturday we went to visit our favorite family and their babies in Orlando.
We got to swim in the pool about 15 minuets before a giant storm poured in.
Which was fine with us because they then proceeded to feed us.
Which is ALWAYS good in my book.

Sunday we just bummed around the house...
literally I dont even think I moved
unless it was to get water or food...
     It was a good day.
    Condo Life at its best.

    Weekend Review

We had a lazy kind of weekend here. Our days were filled mostly with naps, ice cream and the Olympics. On Friday we went to our good friends house for the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. If you ever want to feel really fat... Watch the top athletes in the world while scarfing down your own carton of Half Baked... It really was a fun night though despite each of us all eating our own carton of ice cream. I can tell you one thing though I am so grateful to live in this country after hearing about all the horrible thing going on around the world. I thought I was a little more informed about the worlds news but turns out there are at least 12 countries I had never heard of with terrible things happening in them.

We were going to venture out to the yard to work on our patio but turns out we have a sprinkler right smack dab in the middle of the area. So our patio plans will be slightly postponed until we can move the sprinkler. We did actually get out with some friends Saturday night for a fun triple date. In April my best friend from Kindergarten and First grade was hired at The Kids Place. It was such a great throwback! I feel like we picked off right where we left off ( literally cause we still act like we are in elementary school) it has been so great working with her every day and we finally got to venture out into the real world with our men for a little glow-in-the-dark putt putt.  For some reason Brittany was blurry in every picture we tried to take...  I think she was just so excited to be there :)

    Weekend Review

This weekend has gone by all too fast, but what weekend doesn't. We spent this weekend catching up with some old friends. We spent Saturday with my good friend Tahna. She has been here for the past month working her butt off at Disney and we finally got to see her two days before she heads back to Provo. We had such a good time with her. Seriously one of the sweetest people I know. We spent the day pool hopping  at Disney Coronado Springs This is seriously the best pool around it has an slide and tons of room to play and a giant hot tub.  I mean just look at it... dont you WANT to be here right now?
After hours of catching up in the sun we headed to Downtown Disney to kill some time before Tahna had to go to work. She showed us around her old stomping ground (she works at a few of the stores in DTD). and she even bought us an icy from Candy Calderon. We stopped by the new Harley store and took a few silly pictures. Jon was nice enough to join in on the fun.  Then it was time to say good bye. Seeing Tahna made me miss Utah even more than I usually do so many of our good friends are there right now and so few are here, but at least we give everyone a great place to visit.

On Sunday we got up and got ready for church only to end up not going. Jon had checked in on Facebook to Downtown Disney the night before and it turns out one of his favorite families from his mission was visiting. So we changed our clothes and headed back to Orlando for the day. Jon was like a little kid, so excited to see this family. I had heard so much about them I was pretty excited too. On the way there Jon warns me in these words...

Jon: Now Richard got in a bad accident and has scars on his face so don't stare.
Me: Oh really are they that bad? And I really don't think I would...
Jon: Yeah but they are bad he was in the Navy and I think that's how they got them

So we get there and they get out of their car with their 4 adorable kids and there is not a thing wrong with Richard,at all. I did not even give it a second thought until half way through lunch... turns out that Jon had just made the whole thing up to see how I would react. I never knew he was such a good liar... haha Oh how he picks on me!! Besides me looking really silly the lunch was great. We got to catch up and meet their kids ( they have two more since they last saw Jon) and even made plans to go visit them in Septtember to do this race.... http://www.colormerad.com/about.html

Over all it was a great weekend and I am so sad it is over. But there is always next weekend to look forward too.
